Shannon Kaplan, PE, Partner, LEED AP

Shannon is a Partner at AKF/Lightcraft. She has over 20 years of experience in all things light, including architectural lighting design, daylighting, and harnessing the sun for solar energy (renewable energy and photovoltaic systems). She is passionate about saving energy and has worked on numerous high-performance, net zero energy, and LEED-certified projects. Shannon enjoys working with clients to understand their vision and goals and help bring them to life, whether through lighting design, highlighting the architecture and interior design while providing quality lighting for occupants - or engaging occupants for a future net zero project to help them find ways to help save energy in their new building. Shannon holds a Bachelor's Degree in Architectural Engineering with a focus on Lighting and Electrical and a Master's Degree in Architectural Engineering with a focus on Illumination Engineering, both from Penn State University. She also has a Master of Science in Organizational Development and Leadership from Saint Joseph's University. Shannon is a PE licensed in multiple states, and LEED AP accredited.

Colin Conroy LC, MIES

Colin has more than 20 years of Architectural Lighting Design experience on a wide array of well-known projects. His project types includes financial, corporate, site, recreation, commercial, residential, museum, educational, public space, and healthcare. Colin has worked on both international and domestic projects in the architectural, interior, and furniture design disciplines. He has become an essential part of Lightcraft, bringing his leadership skills, project management and design expertise to each new project to ensure a consistent and state-of-the-art work product. He is a wonderful mentor and creative inspiration to everyone he works with.

Colin holds degrees from both Griffith College, Dublin, Ireland and from FIT in Interior Design.

 
 

Hue Lee LEED AP, IALD, IIDA, MIES

Senior Lighting Designer Hue Lee is an amazing addition to the Lightcraft team with her many years of experience in lighting design for corporate offices, hotels, healthcare, cultural spaces and retail. Hue has received many accolades and won multiple awards for her dynamic and creative lighting solutions. Hue has designed for ambitious LEED projects, creating appealing and energy efficient atmospheres for people to learn, work, and grow. She is a professional member of the IALD.

Hue holds an MA in Architectural Lighting Design from Parsons School of Design and an MS in Architectural Interior Design from Pratt Institute.

Susi joined Lightcraft with a wealth of knowledge and experience behind her. She strives to incorporate innovative ideas that focus on health and wellness, sustainability, and universal design. Thinking outside the box is an important factor in this process. This allows her to use her artistic and professional experience, as well as her love of light, color, and texture.

Susi holds a MA in Interior Architecture from the New England School of Art and Design at Suffolk University and a BS in Industrial Design from The Ohio State University.

 

Susannah Gilbard, Partner Emeritus, CLD, IALD, MIES,

LC, LEED AP

Susannah has over 35 years of Architectural Lighting Design experience. She believes that lighting is a collaboration of architecture, interior design, engineering and aesthetic vision. Most importantly, Susannah takes pride in producing meticulous and creative work, where all team members are heard and represented. Susannah excels at problem solving and creative thinking. Most importantly, Susannah loves light!

She has worked on lighting design projects for multiple WELL Building Standard and LEED® accredited facilities, combining aesthetics, sustainable design, and cost effective solutions. Susannah is often sought after as a guest speaker on high-profile, creative and energy efficient lighting design at leading lighting industry conferences.

Susannah holds a BFA in Lighting Design from Carnegie-Mellon University.
